Google Translate added 24 new languages together with 8 languages from India.
The Assamese language has lastly discovered a spot in Google Translate. The tech big has introduced the addition of 24 new languages on Google Translate . Out of the 24 languages, there are eight Indian languages together with Assamese, Meiteilon (Manipuri) and Mizo. Other than these three languages, Google Translate will now have Sanskrit, Bhojpuri, Dogri, Konkani, Maithili amongst others. Google Translate now has a base of 133 languages. Google has shared the data via a tweet.
The language bought its recognition after six years of tireless efforts by Assamese folks from over 22 nations around the globe and the decision by the previous DGP of Assam Police to take up the problem on a mission mode. Now, the Assamese language has bought recognition on Google too.

Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his happiness and pleasure. He tweeted, “Delighted that @Google has added Assamese in its language translation device among the many 24 new languages included, 8 of that are native to India. This may promote extra analysis on the attractive language & popularize its use throughout digital platforms.”
Asam Sahitya Sabha (ASS) president Kuladhar Saikia, who’s a former IPS officer and ex-DGP of Assam Police, made a worldwide name to Assamese audio system throughout pandemic to go on a mission mode to contribute extra sources in Assamese language and get a spot in Google Translate.
“The contributions of Assamese language sources have been vital within the final two years whereas the variety of such contributions crossed 5.5 lakh,” he mentioned. At present, there are about 25 million customers of Assamese language, whereas Meitei has about two million customers and Mizo has about 8,30,000 customers within the NE respectively. Shikhar Kumar Sarma, Gauhati College professor, who was a neighborhood volunteer, mentioned that the brand new language on Google translate will serve a wider neighborhood. He additionally inserted that main translation methods in Indian languages should be constructed on the authorities stage without spending a dime public use.
